About us

Senior Fire Officer Kenneth and Firefighter Robert both have extensive experience in the firefighting profession, with over 30 years of service in the Karleby Rescue Department.

Together, the brothers developed HydroVentEurope and today they sell the product throughout Europe.

History

A colleague discovered HydroVent on YouTube and contacted our work group to ask whether we could manufacture a similar tool. Through excellent cooperation with the Rescue Services of Central Ostrobothnia and the Jakobstad region, we developed a tool suited to our conditions: HydroVentEurope. The product is based on the invention of American firefighter Kevin O'Donnell, HydroVent.
HydroVentEurope is currently manufactured by KR Lift, a company owned by brothers Kenneth and Robert.

Product development

The first product was manufactured for testing within the rescue service's own operations in Karleby. After the initial version, production and product development were transferred to KR Lift Oy. The original name was ST-nozzle (finnish words “Sammutus ja Tuuletus” = Extinguishing and Ventilation Nozzle), which later became HydroVentEurope.

The goal was to develop the original HydroVent into a product better suited to European conditions. During development, for example, the amount of water in the ventilation nozzle was adjusted, an extension pipe was developed, and a separate valve for the extinguishing nozzle was added. Most of the product's components are manufactured in Ostrobothnia, Finland.
